Even with a very stuffy noise, baby girl is in such a good mood this morning and has been talking for the past hour!

Our happy baby is back ... but teething :(
So this past week we were ever so blessed to get our happy baby back in our lives! It seems like the month of constant crying is over and she is ever so darling. We had our 4 month well visit yesterday and baby girl continues to grow and achieve milestones (some early!). She has grown a lot since her last visit (over 2 inches and 2.5 lbs), this may have had something to do with her grouchiness a few weeks ago, as she was likely having a growth spurt. While doing the regular check up, her Dr. actually found a tooth coming in (really early, as most babies don't get teeth until at least 6 mo, and many not until 8-10 months old... sad day for us)! This could also explain her random grumpiness and definitely explains the ridiculous amount of drool we've got going on.
4 month stats:
Height: 26.25", 98% percentile (giant!)
Weight: 15 lb 8 oz, 85% percentile (I am loving her rolls)
Head Circumference: 75% percentile
Some of her favorite things to do and current tricks include: Rolling from back to front (she still isn't quite coordinated to get from front to back regularly), sucking on anything she can get into her mouth (including a pacifier again, HALLELUJAH!), talking and cooing, and occasionally laughing, snuggling with mom and dad and staring at her arms and playing with her feet (its a bit difficult to change her diaper anymore, as she is constantly holding her feet and rocking around). What a great little one, we are so lucky to have her in our family!

Look at me in my Bumbo
What is a bumbo you may ask? It is this fabulous seat that helps babies sit up earlier. I was going to wait until she was 4 months, but I broke it out last week, and of course, she is darling in it!!
She starts out able to hold her head fairly well, and is really smiley. After 5-10 minutes though the sitting deteriorates into her sucking on her hands in this position:

Even trying to eat her seat she is still cute though!
She is still amazing at flipping to her tummy, but has only flipped to her back a few times. So cute though, even when she screams to get off her tummy, right after she had been righted and then proceeded to immediately flip over again!
Check me out...
So anyone concerned about her eating habits need not worry, still growing, baby girl weighed in at 15.5 lbs at a checkup last week, we'll see what she tops out next week for her 4 month check up.

I can laugh!
Rollin, rollin, rollin, baby girl is Rolling!
Mid roll |
We have a full blown roller on our hands. So long are the days of swaddling and sleeping in one position. Lily is now very good at rolling from her back to her stomach and has been on her stomach each morning when she wakes up for the past few days. While she is very good at going from back to front (which is supposedly more advanced) she still struggles with getting back on her back from her tummy. She has done it, but we've apparently not been doing tummy time enough as she seems to have forgotten how to do it.

No longer sleeping...
For the past week and a half, baby girl has decided not to sleep. She acts terrified and screams whenever I put her in the crib, and we now experience hour long screaming "naps" (I check on her and soothe her every 10 minutes, I don't just let her scream an hour straight).
At night after she finally goes to sleep (no earlier than 10), she is up screaming every 2-3 hours. Oh joys, how I hope this is a very short lived faze. If we have another baby she is going to sleep in the crib without a swaddle the day we come home from the hospital.
The worst part is I know she is completely exhausted but she just will not let herself fall asleep! It makes me very sad for her, since I know she would be so much happier if she just took naps and slept at night. Hopefully she figures it out soon, it's hard work being a little baby. :(
