Love me some rolls

Little girl is sitting up and crawling all over these days. Oh, and did I mention how much I am in love with her rolls? Don't you just want to squeeze her?

Lately

Baby girl continues to grow and show her own little personality more and more every day. She has become a champ at eating solid foods and loves her highchair. So far she has taken to most of the foods I've given her, with one exception; green beans. Ironically, these are AJ and my favorite veggie, hopefully her tastes will change as she gets older, but for now, it is funny to watch her grimace when I feed her beans.

What she dislikes in foods she makes up for in her loves for her daddy, how cute are they. We are so blessed to have our little family!

Sitting like a champ

This was my greeting this afternoon post nap. Baby girl, sitting up in her crib trying to pull down her bumpers. I guess it is officially time to drop the crib!

She is so funny, ever since she has learned to sit up she seems to be doing it constantly. This morning she got a bit stuck trying to sit down with her bum on the TV stand. Eventually she got herself turned around and spent a good 10 minutes talking to her reflection in the glass.

Two Handed

Baby girl sat up again on her own today, and much to my chagrin, is still loving her thumb ... and fingers ... and anything she can get into her mouth really. I am hoping this is just a phase and that she doesn't become a thumb sucker.

Who needs toys?

She is in a room full of toys and all she wants to do is play with the plastic bag. Simple pleasures.

Whipped

Baby girl is crawling really well now, and can get wherever she wants. It's making life more complicated, but definitely more fun as well. I really need to get on the baby proofing. Especially our room, so she can just crawl around and I don't have to worry about her pulling something down on her head. She has actually started crawling to me and then planking and complaining until you pick her up. But seriously, how can I not, she is just to cute! Consider me whipped.

Oh how she loves her uncle. Sorry this is so grainy, it was just to cute not to post!

She is her daddy's daughter

When presented with a soda can, baby girl really gets a move on. She got herself from one corner of the rug to the other and back, all in hopes of catching the elusive soda can. Her daddy will be so proud!

A week of firsts

This past week has been an exciting time for the bean. She has had many firsts, all of which were exciting, some  a little more scary than exciting, but exciting nonetheless. First, starting with the purely exciting happenings.

1. Baby girl sat up by herself for the first time (6/7/12). She was rolling off her stomach, and instead of flipping all the way to her back, paused, and pushed herself into a sitting position. Exciting for sure, but who knows when she'll do it again (she's tried, but not succeeded yet).

Sitting inside her pillow fortress. She often gets distracted, and this makes it less likely that she'll bang her head on the ground when she loses focus.

2. She sat in a high chair. It was a lot like her swinging experience, she seemed pretty unenthusiastic, and by the end of lunch she may have been trying to eat her high chair ...



3. She is doing a modified roll / crawl / scoot combo to get around. She's definitely not officially crawling, but is getting much more mobile with each day.

... Now for the exciting events that were exciting only because they were scary ...

4. Baby girl now uses her high chair for eating ... because she had a tumble in the bumbo. Needless to say, the bumbo lives on the ground now.

Editorial note: She has no clothes on because we were just about to take a bath, but I was getting something to eat first, hence, naked in the bumbo on the kitchen floor.

5. We've experienced our first bout of projectile vomiting. Baby girl had some sort of stomach bug that caused her to projectile vomit all yesterday afternoon. All in all I changed 2 sets of sheets, changed my clothes twice, her clothes 3 times and gave her 3 baths in one day. Thankfully, she seems to be feeling fine today and never had a fever, it is not a fun experience though. Look how sad she looked, all nuzzled into my arms though :(

Lately ...

We've had some fun times as of late. Grandma came to visit, and baby girl loved all the extra love and attention. She really is a lucky little girl to have so many people in her life who think she is amazing.

We had a lot of fun just hanging out, reading from my mom's personal journal and playing on the piano my mom got baby girl. I hadn't opened it yet, since it said ages 3+, but she LOVED it. It was so funny, she is not quite crawling yet, but she will find a way to get across the room so she can bang on the piano and make noise. I think she still wants to eat it a little, but she hasn't figured out how to get it in her mouth yet!

Baby girl continues to grow, and finally fits this darling outfit from our friends Rebecca and Adam who sadly moved with their dear little one :( I think she looks so precious though, and she'll be wearing this a lot!!
