Pouch time

Stuck in traffic outside Conroe. Luckily she likes to "feed" herself.

And we've come full circle

Baby girl fits and is rocking the little striped onesie I "made" in YW when I was a Beehive. Giving me all the credit for making it is a stretch for sure, but I was involved nonetheless and that is pretty neat that she can wear it now!

8 months old!

Baby girl is 8 months old and is busy as ever. She loves crawling all over and cruising around the furniture. She's become even more chatty lately and is a joy.

She's started to be more interested in books, not really for reading, but we're inching in that direction. Most importantly, she is still super cuddly and full of loves. How we love our little pumpkin.

Favorite

Hands down, my favorite time of day is definitely morning nap / cuddle time. So precious.

Loving her some berries

With her 8 month birthday, baby girl got to enjoy blueberries. They were a hit, though very messy, as demonstrated by her Joker-esque pose below.

Snuggle time

Oh how I love morning cuddle time before her morning nap.

Daddy gave me a new toy

And oh how I love it!

Don't worry, I taped up the top with packing tape so she can't hurt herself. Seeing the amount of dents already though, I don't know how long this toy will last.

Like father like daughter

Black eye

Poor little girl got her first black eye: first casualty from trying to stand up on everything.

Burger time

Baby girl's daddy wants to get her indoctrinated early. This picture doesn't completely capture her excitement, but she definitely tried to grab this basket of deliciousness.

Standing up

Baby girl can now pull herself up to standing and is trying to do it everywhere. The kicker tho? She doesn't know how to get down and generally resorts to screaming. Silly girl.

Welcome to the world!

We had such a great time visiting Dan and April and meeting their little Sweet Pea. She is absolutely precious and perfect! I loved all of her brand new baby coo-ing noises; such a fun stage. It's amazing how much changes in 7 months, looking at the pictures, it's hard to believe our little one was the same weight and length when she was born. What a difference half a year makes! It is going to be so fun once they are a little older and can be buddies!

A look back at where we started

Visiting the newest little Ericksen this past weekend made me reflect on how much our little pumpkin has grown and changed in the past 7 months. It is really crazy and overwhelming to think of how much has happened since we first saw her heart beating on the ultrasound and felt her kicking in my belly.

It was so neat to see how excited Dan and April are to be parents, and it reminded me so much of all the emotions we felt in the hospital and at home for the first few weeks. Looking back at photos from the hospital it's hard to believe she was ever that small!

Those first few weeks with our little girl at home were a mash-up of emotions. I remember taking her home and the craziness I felt, knowing from then on, we were parents and that I would do anything I could to help this little girl be happy. In her first month, we were so blessed to get visits from all the grandparents, and slowly but surely we started to adjust to having our little one.

I really didn't think we could love our sleepy little girl any more than we did during her first few weeks.

We got a glimpse of what to expect for the next few months when getting a photo for her announcement cards, part of me still wishes I had sent out the screaming photos with the caption: 'No more silent nights'.

Christmas was even more special, since it was our first to spend as a family. We had a great time with the Pando-Horrocks family on Christmas Eve and enjoyed church and a wonderful Christmas dinner with a family from our ward. It was such a blessing to have so many friends to spend our first Christmas holiday in Texas with.

Happy time had ended by the end of our Christmas Eve Pando-Horrocks extravaganza.

It is amazing how much she has grown, but how much she has stayed the same. She was born a doll and just gets cuter every day!

Cheerios!

Practicing picking up and 'tasting' Cheerios. Too bad whenever she gets one in her mouth the texture makes her gag! Such a funny little girl.

Oh, and does it make me a bad mom that I want to eat her peaches and applesauce? No wonder she likes them do much, they are delish!

Road Trip

We took baby girl on her first road trip to go visit her brand new cousin. She was a champ and slept 3 of the 4 hours to Dallas. She seemed not to interested in her cousin, but was both fascinated and terrified of Dan and April's dogs. She kept trying to crawl up next tp them, but would then wiggle around in fear. At one point AJ was helping her pet the dog, but then the dog licked her foot, causing her to freak out. Amusing anyway.

Along with meeting her first animal, baby girl also got her first bath sitting up.We decided not to bring her bath tub so we instead bathed her in Grandpa Jim's kitchen sink. She loved it, once she was no longer scared of the sprayer!

Dropping the crib

It was a sad day on Friday, as baby girl is growing up so fast and is starting to pull herself up in her crib.

To avoid a potential tumble, AJ dropped her crib to the lowest setting. She is getting so big, when did my baby grow up?

On a side note, I also miss how much easier it was to get her in and out of her crib before. 20 lbs is a workout for sure!
