Sick little bug

The bug has had a hard 18 month birthday. It started out with the most traumatic waffle experience ever:

And continued all day with a very sad and feverish little bug. I knew something was wrong when she wouldn't eat anything (not even grapes, bad sign). 

We're snuggling and she's sleeping now. Hopefully she will feel better in the morning. It's no fun being a sick baby. Poor little one. Feel better. 

Dressing up

She always seems so big to me until she puts on my clothes and then I remember how small she really is. 

Loving her Auntie

So these are nearly a month old now, but how cute is the bug with her Auntie? To say she is a fan would be an understatement, and I love how these pics turned out. Come home soon Amy so the bug can love on you!!

18 mo old

Baby girl is 18 month old! She is such a fun age and SO BUSY. It is so much fun to watch her learn new things and discover the world around her. Apparently I never posted results from her 15 mo old visit, so firstly those stats, as well as pics from 3 month ago, at 15 months old:

15 month stats:
Height: 32", 90%
Weight: 24 lb 7.5 oz, 74%
Head: 97%

 

At her 18 month well-check she still charted in the 90s:

18 month stats:
Height: 33.25", 91%
Weight: 27 lb 6.5 oz, 88%
Head: 91%

Current likes:
* Eating, specifically anything mom and dad are eating. She still has texture issues, and we're still doing veggie purees, but she will now eat whole fruit, pastas (so long as there is sauce involved), PB sandwiches, quesadillas and any type of cracker / chip / fry / salty snack (she is my daughter after all).
* Music and dancing; lately she's expanded her moves and has her whole body involved in the party. Seriously my favorite.
* Books; she loves to be read to and will spend the entire morning bringing me different books to read to her. Her favorites always revolve around animals, and lately she's started acting out the stories, mimicking how I read them to her. My fav is "Barnyard Dance" when she 'Bow's' to the horse and cow.
* Animals; she is still very shy, EXCEPT when animals are involved. She so loves dogs and cats and all bets are off as soon as she sees one. She's less scared of dogs as well and will now pet and attempt to kiss any  dogs she meets at the park (I always check with the owner prior to letting her get close in case the dog is yippy).
* Packages and new clothes / shoes. The bug is so funny whenever packages come in the mail. She gets so excited and loves to help me open up the boxes and immediately starts searching through looking for things for her. Whenever new clothes or shoes are involved, she 'tries' them on and gets very excited. Also adorable is how much she likes to wear my clothes and my and AJs shoes. It's so funny when she gets her feet in them and tries to walk around. 

* Helping. She loves to be my little helper by closing doors, throwing away the garbage and luckily for my current state, picking things up for me off the floor. 

Current dislikes:
* Doctors appointments; Screams. The. Whole. Time.
* New situations in general. She is still very shy and thrives on predictability.
* Being fed. She is becoming very independent and likes to try to feed herself. This generally results in food everywhere except her mouth as she is learning to use a spoon, but I anticipate she will get a lot more practice once she has a little brother demanding time as well.

Random happenings

Why would I eat the ones you sliced when I can gnaw on half of the pear?

Still wishes she could jump over to play with the neighbors dog. 

Enjoying her first ride in a wagon (I was shocked she didn't cry) and loving her first of likely many sno cones this summer. 

Playing the piano and singing after RS this morning. She was so happy to get to play it, I'm just happy that next week she is officially old enough for nursery!!

Latest loves

I think it's safe to assume the bug ...

... likes stroganoff. 

...And to "try" on clothes. 

...And that she has a good self esteem, as she frequently smiles and kisses herself in the mirror. 

So brave

The bug has gotten braver lately, today she even tried to kiss Lolli and didn't freak out when Lolli licked her hands in return.

Dipping

The bug loves salsa, and today I let her actually dip her quesadilla in her own salsa. Overall it was a success, but by the end, she mostly was just licking off the salsa. Silly bug.

Also, some pics of Her this morning with her nanny, she loves to push her stroller and was throwing a fit until J let her out to push it. My favorite part is that she is still in her Jammie's and doesn't even have shoes on yet!
