My little pumpkin

Pumpkin had her first taste of pumpkin pie tonight. It was a hit. She had a minor melt down when Paul tried to give her cool whip (she is not a fan of change), but once she accidentally tasted it, she realized its awesome and all was forgiven.

Sunday smiles

The fact that it is so infrequent make them that much better to get.

Successful Saturday

This is what a successful Saturday looks like at our house:
The little man seems to be doing a little better with his medicine. Still has a little trouble eating but he's definitely screaming less; which is better for everyone.
Even Bug gets concerned when he's upset and immediately says "uh oh! baby cry! binky!" gets a baby doll and starts trying to calm it down, burp it and sways from side to side.
On an unrelated note, Bug is officially loves the splash park. She will even play by herself now and likes to stand directly on top of the fountains. Tho her favorite time is still snack time.
Digging in to dinner. She loves dipping everything in hummus and salsa, and if I don't watch her, will just eat the dips plain. Love her.
And some of Bugs pigtails. So fun how long her hair is getting.
On our daily walk around the block. I wear the boy and she walks with me. Her latest obsession is all the rocks in the various driveways as we pass. She loves to find her favorites and carries them with her throughout our walk. Thankfully she's shown no desire to take them inside and usually drops them as we near the house.

And how sweet is this. The little man was crying so she grabbed his hand. Love them. They'll be such good friends!

It's official.

She loves her brother. Case in point, the ultimate sign of love / acceptance: giving her brother her blanket when he was crying.

Why hello there...

First smiles. He loves to be talked to.

Tummy time quickly deteriorates into suck on my hands time. He has great head control tho and is actively trying to get his legs up under him while on his belly.

Lately the bug is obsessed with talking on the phone. She pretty much takes any phone shaped toy, calculator, food and puts it up and pretends to talk. So funny.

All Before 6 am

Puked and peed on all before 6 am. Hopefully it's not a sign for the remainder of the day.

Lately

Tho we mostly have a lot of screaming, Bubby is starting to try to coo and is very responsive in the mornings. We've even got a few nearly smiles from the little guy. It definitely makes the screaming a *little more bearable.
Bug still loves her table and chairs and I find her there regularly either coloring or reading a book. We have had a few casualties however, as she seems to fall into it at least once a day resulting in multiple scrapes and bruises.

Here's hoping her enthusiasm for broccoli translates from play to reality. I'm not holding my breath tho.

Aunt Kasi Came to Town

It's always great when Aunt Kasi can come to visit. We had such a great time over the 4th playing, dealing with screaming and mostly eating lots of delicious food. Thanks so much for coming, eventually I will get back out to Portland ... just not for a while ... I am still much to terrified even by the thought of traveling with 2 kiddos!

One month old

Happy one month old *little guy! It's crazy we've all survived. Like his big sister, this guy is growing big and strong:

2 week stats:
Height: 22.5", 95% percentile
Weight: 10 lb 11 oz, 95% percentile
Head Circumference: 62% percentile

1 month stats:
Height: 22.75", 89% percentile
Weight: 12 lb 13 oz, 98% percentile
Head Circumference: 62% percentile

He is a very sweet baby and loves to be cuddled, so much so that he very much hates not to be held and makes himself known about it.

So far he is very alert and easily startled, which makes sleeping a struggle at times. He's still figuring things out and likes to scream. A lot. Hopefully this will be a much shorter phase than with the Bug, but I am not holding my breath.

All these pics make it look like he sleeps all the time. I assure you, this is not the case. At night time, I've all but given in to letting him just sleep with me so that he'll sleep longer than 2 hr stretches.

The bug is starting to adjust to having a little brother. She loves him and gets very concerned when he cries, trying to help by going and finding his binky and by talking to him. She is also currently obsessed with playing with her baby dolls. She will burp them, sway them, and talk to them to try to calm them down. She also tries to change their diapers and puts them in the carseat, rocker etc. It is really sweet, such a darling little girl for sure. Pretty much anything she's seen me do, she'll try to copy with her dolls. Tho she has also been throwing them on the floor recently in frustration, which I assure you, I have not done. :)
We also got a little coloring table for the bug. She loves it and has already drawn all over the table and falls out of the chairs twice, I anticipate that will continue to happen until she gets a little taller and doesn't need to crawl up into the chairs.

Happy 4th of July!

She still doesn't like to take pictures with her brother...

Cheese bomb

As she is squealing in delight, baby boy sleeps peacefully in my arms. It's no small miracle he can sleep at all with his tornado of a sister.

From earlier today, he is napping while she runs and screams with her new baby in her shopping cart up and down the hall.
