Cow appreciation day

We love Chick-Fil-A. Like an unhealthy amount. The fact that we have one less than 5 minutes from our house is both awesome and terrifying. So of course, for cow appreciation day we had to dress up and get our free entrees. Both kids were fascinated and enthralled with the cow, both kids were also however, equally terrified when said cow got anywhere near them. Oh my kids.

He was less scared, but still didn't want to get to close to the cow. I can't really blame him.

She kept telling me she wanted to say hello to the cow, but whenever she got close, terror kicked in.

Donuts make them happy

Since we moved to the new house, Saturday's have become daddy daughter donut dates. It is so fun to see how excited the Bug gets, for her daddy date. She loves spending time with him and the donuts are an added bonus as well (her current favorite is pink or blue with sparkles i.e. what she calls sprinkles).

No one is more pleased for these donut dates tho than Bubba. He is definitely a fan.

If you insist ...

We are mobile!

The Bub is up and moving. At nearly 14 months, he started walking today. It's crazy how different he is from his sister who sat at 4 months, crawled at 6 mo and started taking steps around 9 mo and was walking well by a year. I think he's been able to do it for a while, but really had no motivation. Similar to his crawling (he did not sit, roll or crawl at all until 9 mo when he took off, crawling, climbing etc), today he decided to start walking and can walk across the room with no help. Life is about to get crazy. And I thought I was tired before haha.

New Lens

I got a fancy new lens today and I am hooked. I'll have to get used to the lack of zoom, but I am already so happy with the speed and detail. I can't wait to try it out when I have good lighting to begin with!

These pics I snapped as the sun was setting, right before bed. I love how much they enjoy playing together. They were giggling hysterically and kept chasing each other around the bed. Bubba kept lunging to give Bug kisses. Seriously the cutest ever. Love these two.

Sunday Series

Our new ward has stars with each childs picture for their different classes, to help teachers remember names, allergies etc. giving me an excuse to take some pictures (like I need an excuse). Happy Sunday!

The winning picture, hopefully they see her smile lol!

Already beating up on his big sister.
Gimme some sugar.

Life lately according to my iPhone

Hand holding, the only way to keep him from screaming. Loving the water table from Grandma.
My Cutie Potato, who now loves to have her picture taken. Throwing rocks in the fountain. Bedtime jumping.
Swinging. More naked baby jumping. Sad little man, I think it's teething?

The Zoo and other shananigans

We love the zoo. Pumpkin really enjoys the animals (the monkeys and giraffes are her favorite) but LOVES the carousel. I think she would do just about anything to ride. I love seeing her so happy :) Bubba hasn't caught the carousel fever yet, so until then, I will continue to be the crazy lady holding a baby and spotting a toddler.

On his tippy toes with excitement.

This monkey kept hitting the glass, and Bubba would hit it back. It was all fun until the monkey went crazy and banged the glass so hard. It scared the Bub so much that he fell over. Thank goodness I caught him!

Post zoo cuddles.

Sunday Series

Our last day at the Bering chapel. I've been in this ward / building ever since I moved to Houston back in 2008. It's bittersweet, it will be so nice to have a house with space, but I will miss our ward.

Super heroes

Super hero masks from target. Best. Purchase. Ever. Thank you grandma for all the whooshing and rescuing. They are having so much fun.

Little Photog

The Bug is becoming quite the photographer. She loves to steal my phone and take pictures. Most times it ends up of the floor, her foot or a 100 pictures of her book, but every few 100 she gets some awesome ones. Lately she's taken to posing baby doll and lamby and telling them to "smile!" "oh you're so cute!" "we'll send this to grandma!" Apparently I take a lot of pictures :)

Bed time snuggles with these two are the best
He always holds my arm when he sleeps. Melts me.

Cutie Potato

A few days ago I got Pumpkin dressed and told her she was such a little cutie patootie. She however, thought I said cutie potato, and now tells everyone how she is a cutie potato. I couldn't agree more. Love my little cutie potatoes.

Happy Independence Day!

We had such a great time this year for the 4th! This morning we walked to the neighborhood parade and party in the park. The Bug LOVED the firetrucks, and all the candy. Bubba enjoyed himself as well, but by the time we were coming home was so tired he fell asleep (which he NEVER does, the heat really took it out of him). I'm excited to keep this tradition up, and it's awesome that we are so close that we can walk! After the parades and naps, we enjoyed a traditional hot dog / brats BBQ (even tho it poured) complete with corn on the cob, pasta salad and popsicles. Happy Birthday America!
