Trip to the beach

Last weekend, our ward had a party at the beach. Since both kids love the water and AJ didn't have to work, we decided to head down for the morning. We packed our gear and a lunch and that way.

AJ was excited to get to try out his fancy box kite that he'd bought years ago. It was a pretty windy day and perfect for kite flying (even with less fancy kites). Pumpkin even got in on the kite flying fun.

Both kiddos also really enjoyed playing in the sand. Of course, I forgot our shovels and buckets at home (mom fails, but thankfully, another family had brought lots of shovels and buckets to make sand castles and they shared with the kids. I think Bub would have been content to just play in the "dirt" (and AJ would have been too), but Bug really wanted to swim so of course, then Bub had to also.

Swimming with both of the kids is a workout in itself to just ensure neither one drowns. Bug loved to crouch down and feel the waves hit her back. Bub mostly just enjoyed running into and out of the water. He kept saying "cold", but refused to get out. In the end, only the bribe of watermelon from the ward party would get them to leave the water.

Only because I take way to many pictures

She was not a fan of his sticky lollipop hands.

Looking anywhere but the camera.

Singing "Let it go" with his "microphone.

Another trip to the zoo

Petting the alligator at the zoo. Bub is always super excited to pet all the animals. Pumpkin is much more hesitant, but usually does it after Bub (toddler peer pressure at its finest).

They are both obsessed with the seal statue and LOVE to have their picture taken on it. Unfortunately this was the best we got this trip.

Giant Lizard

We went to the museum of Natural History to see the Butterfly exhibit, and while we were waiting for some friends to arrive, Bub got to pet this enormous lizard. He was super excited about it and kept saying "Take my picture mommy!" Looks like he is over his hatred of cameras :)

Lately

He still hasn't mastered the art of jumping, but he sure does love to stand on curbs, count to ten and then step off while screaming "JUMP!"

We had a fun trip to the zoo last weekend with Dad. They always love the zoo, but having Dad there too makes it even better.

A few weeks ago our bubble machine bit the dust (I guess that's what you get when you buy a $7 bubble machine). To compensate, I got a new $5 bubble gun and grandma sent over some bubble wands. Bub lasted a lot longer than I thought he would and lasted 15 whole minutes before he accidently poured the bubbles all over himself.

Becanse snack cups and tank tops = summer.

This kid is obsessed with Lightning McQueen. I cannot wait to take him to Disney this fall. He is going to die of excitement.

More counting and jumping off curbs with Lightning.
