Soccer Players

I finally signed the kiddos up for soccer shots and I don't know why I'd put it off for so long. We almost missed the first day, for some reason I had it in my mind that it started the next week, but I can already tell I am going to love this. It was so fun to watch them run around and try to make goals. I think it will be really good for Bubba to be in a team situation also where he has to deal with disappointment not by throwing a major fit (hopefully anyway). Oh and L did a full middle split. Goodness I wouldn't be able to walk if that had happened to me!

Easter Weekend

For Easter weekend we took a quick trip up to Austin see Rick and Deanne and their family. We had a lot of fun at a minor league baseball "fun" day and the kids just really enjoyed playing with cousins and jumping on the trampoline. DJ was visiting from Utah so Dan and April also came over so it was fun to have most of the family in one place.

L attempted her first sleepover with Morgan. It didn't go as well as AJ had hoped, but it further solidified that I made the right decision to not go to camp this year. She is just so little still. She was very sad and called us to go pick her up after about 20 minutes. Rick was actually able to rock her to sleep, and by the time AJ got there (out hotel was about 15 minutes away), she was asleep. M said she was whimpering most of the night though, so M actually cuddled her (best niece ever). My sweet little Bug.

Feeding the giraffes

While grandma was here to visit, we took a trip to the zoo and got to feed the giraffes. I've tried to impress upon them this is only a special treat with grandma, but we'll see what kind of fits we get the next time we go when I don't let them feed them again lol.

It was really cool though. Everyone got to feed one leaf each.

Skater Boi

My friend Kimmy's little girl, who is the same age as Bub, had the cutest mini skate board with her while we were all at the park. Bub was obsessed and really wanted to ride it, thankfully she was able to share her new toy and Bub was in heaven. Looks like I've found his birthday present. That and wrist guards :)

Strawberry Picking

I took the kids strawberry picking at Froberg's farm this year for the first time. I've actually never been so didn't know what to expect. I had been given some buckets so we had everything we needed. It was a super muggy / overcast day, but despite that it was such a fun time. L really got into it, trying to carefully pick the biggest and best strawberries only. Bub was less picky, and quite a few got eaten before we were through. After picking we enjoyed strawberries, fresh pies and suasage on a stick (or "Hotdog sausage" as Bub called it), all in all it was definitely worth the drive though and an activity I see us doing every year for a while!

Donuts, parks and Lightning McQueen

Grandma sent Bub this Lightning McQueen racing suit, and he LOVES it. It is a little small, and actually doesn't even zip up the back, but that doesn't stop him. It is so awesome and was the best thrift store find ever. He's going to need to get in all his wears right now though, since in a few weeks it will be way to hot to wear this winter suit anywhere :)

L hasn't been in much mood to be photographed lately, so I've laid off, maybe she'll come around, or maybe not, but I love pictures like this, that help me remember how sweet and caring a soul she is. When you ask her what she wants to be when she grows up, without hesitation it is a Mom. For a while she was saying she wanted 3 babies at a time, but she has since come around and decided one at a time would be better, since her babies will need her so much :)

Do you want to build a snowman?

For Christmas, I got the kids a make your own snow kit as a stuffing stocker. Because I am the mom of the year, we finally did it today.

It was fun watching them work together to "make snow" by pouring little scoops of water in to the mixture and watching it grow into snow-ish stuff.

It is debatable if they enjoyed making the snow or cleaning up more tho :)

Trailriiders Parade

In preparation of the rodeo, we went again to see the trail riders ride through on their way to downtown. It was a bit of a disappointment actually, especially when compared to last year, but it was still a fun time with friends and we got to see a few horses. Bub was ticked that he didn't get to ride them tho. We did get an impromptu tour of the fire station though while we waited, which was fun and exciting of course to Bub.

Apparently, right after the trail riders passed us, one of the horses got spooked and actually trampled one of the riders. She had to be life flighted and was in serious condition. We missed it as we were walking home (and thankfully also missed Rice being shut down for 4 hours because of the accident also).

Toy Graveyard

This week we went to a new to us park near the medical center. It is a smallish park, but filled with tons of old abandoned riding and stand up toys. It's like a toy graveyard. It's pretty awesome. Apparently there is even an older retired man who takes care of and repairs the toys when they get broken. So neat. Bub and L were obsessed with all the new toys and I predict we will be frequenting this park a lot going forward.
