Messy kid

March 12

This kid is messy. Like seriously messy. Today, while they were out playing and riding bikes in the driveway, he managed to somehow get his entire arm covered in black grease. The picture does not do it justice. The entire other side of his arm was coated black. And while I ran inside to get paper towels, he found puddle, jumped in it and then sat in it. Good grief kid.

Your Dad is so proud. Taken on those ribs like a true Texan.

My Homegirl

March 7

It has just been so miserably cold lately. I hate it. Not only because I'm cold, but because it keeps us cooped up inside all day long. I did break down and renew our Children's museum membership though, so we have been spending more time there while we wait out this winter.

Bug got another package in the mail though, with this Momma is my Homegirl shirt and matching tattoo. She loves her heart sticker and has been showing it off proudly to everyone. It's hilarious.

Her tough face.
"See my Heart Sticker Bubba?"  --- "OOOH!!"

Bubbles

Feb 28 2015

As a cure for this eternal winter we've been having , I bought the Bug a bubble machine (or more like she made me buy it, there was no way I was getting out of Hobby Lobby without it that is for sure). It has already provided multiple afternoons of fun though, so I suppose she was spot on. Best $11 spent in February.

Trail Riders

Feb 27 2015

Every year, before the rodeo kicks off in Houston, various groups of trail riders ride from different towns in Texas, OK and Mexico on horses, and in wagons into Houston to officially kick off the rodeo with the rodeo and trail rider parade. This year, a friend tipped me off that the Southwest Trail Riders would be stopping and eating lunch at a local park and we could all go have a picnic and see the horses and wagons up close. With Bubbas obsession with all things farm animals I knew it would be a huge hit so we planned to go out. Of course that morning was FREEZING, we're talking 40 degrees, windy and crazy humid. The information was super vague to as when the riders would arrive, giving a window of 10:30 - 12:30. I didn't want to miss them so we bundled up (they were both wearing 3 shirts, sweatshirts, coats and hats, Bug threw a fit that I was making her wear so many clothes, but understood when we got there). We lasted about 45 minutes outside waiting, but couldn't take it any longer so sat in the car, with the heater and ate our picnic lunches while we waited. I am so glad we waited though. At around noon the trail riders arrived. There were at least 50 horses, 10 wagons and tons of cowboys. Pumpkin and Bubba were thrilled and as soon as everyone got in and off their horses, we got out of the car and were able to walk around and pet all the horses and even get up and sit on a few. One lady even let Bug "walk" her horse. She was in heaven.

It was so cold, and it took forever, but I am so glad we waited and that I had brought enough food to entertain them in the car, because it was so amazing and they loved it so much.

By the end this kid had had enough.

Mini Photo Session

Feb 6 2015

The other day while over playing with Kaylee, Kimmy snapped a few photos of all of us. I have so few pictures actually with these two that these are extra special for me.

Feeding the birds

Feb 5 2015

We took another trip to feed the birds and play at the park, and the kids loved it as usual. Bubba actually fed a few ducks by hand, not on purpose, but he was to slow to give up the bread, so the ducks just helped themselves. Each time he would scream "OW!" but he never quite got the fact that he just needed to throw it faster.

One of my favorite pictures I've taken to date.

He gives the best kisses.

Popsicles make everyday better.
